| Canton loses in the first round |
| The
first game of the 60th Annual Macomb/Western
Holiday Tournament saw the Bushnell-Prairie City
Spartans hit key late 4th quarter free throws to
defeat the Canton Little Giants 49-46. The
Spartans led at the end of every quarter except
the first quarter. A trio of Spartans scored in double figures led by Zach Stuaan's double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Robert Martin and Adam Shaw scored 14 and 12, respectively. Canton was led by Derek Wilcoxen with a game-high 17 points. Jeremy Ball, Canton's 6'11" center, was held to only 4 points on 1-of-6 shooting. The loss for Canton marks
the first time since 2001 the Little Giants have
been defeated in a first round game. |
