Brown County's 50 rebounds not enough
Behind clutch three-point shooting in the 4th quarter by Michael Sullivan and free throws down the strech the Hamilton Cardinals earned an upset win over the #4 seeded Brown County Hornets, 66-61. Sullivan hit back-to-back three pointers to turn a two-point 4th quarter Cardinal lead into an eight point advantage at 50-42.

Jordan Shuman and Sullivan both led the Cardinals (6-4) with 18 points. Justin Skarin had 10 points to go with 5 rebounds and four blocks for Hamilton. Alex Ebbing of the Hornets (10-3) tied the tournament high (Matt Goedeke, Farmington) with 21 points and he added eight rebounds. Josh Babb had the second double-double of the tournament with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Hamilton advances to meet Farmington in Game 14 on Day 2 at 6:30 p.m. The last time these two teams met was in 2002 when Hamilton beat Farmington 66-58 in the first round. Brown County has revenge on their mind when they play Pittsfield on the consolation side in Game 10 on Day 2 at 10:30 a.m. These two teams met earlier this year with Pittsfield posting a 60-58 win.

Brown County pulled down 50 total rebounds, 28 of which were offensive.
Brown County makes their first appearance since 1988.
Hamilton gets their first win in the first round since 2002.
