Warsaw holds off Lewistown 51-42   December 28, 2005
Wildcats move to winners' bracket
Warsaw's Luke Bavery made a layup just over midway through the first quarter and the Wildcats never looked back as they defeated Lewistown 51-42. The Indians (5-4) cut a double-digit lead down to a single point when Chase Wilcoxen's bucket with 1:42 to go made the score 43-42. But Warsaw (5-4) was able to make 10 of 15 second half free throws to get the victory.

Bavery finished with 17 to lead all scorers while Lewistown was paced by Justin Levingston's 12 points.

Warsaw advances and will play the winner of the Macomb/Abingdon game in Game 15 on Day 2 at 8:00 p.m.  Lewistown will meet up the loser of the Macomb/Abingdon game on the consolation side in Game 11 on Day 2 at 1:00 p.m. 

NOTES:
Lewistown shoots 9% (1-11) from three point land.
Lewistown hasn't won a first round game since 2003 when they beat Knoxville 65-44.
Warsaw breaks a streak of three consecutive two-and-outs in the tournament.
Warsaw wins their first 1st round game since 1998, when Warsaw ended up winning the championship and Jason Edwin was named MVP.
