Rock Falls takes next step toward three-peat, 56-32 over B-PC   December 29, 2005
Rockets defensive in their quest to win it again
On the heels of a defense that held the Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans to a rather chilly 15% field goal shooting in the first half, the Rock Falls Rockets advanced to the semifinals with a 56-32 victory. The Spartans could only muster three total field goals and five free throws in the first half. By giving up 16 and 32 points in the first two games, the Rockets set a new record for fewest points allowed through two games, besting the previous record of 66 by Southern set in 2002.

Mark Lauts’ team-high 20 points led the Rockets attack, 16 of which came in the second half. Zach House also contributed to the victory with a double-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds. House was also a big factor on the defensive end with 4 blocks. The Spartans (8-5) were led by Zach Stuaan with 8 points and 9 rebounds, though shooting 4-12 from the field.

Rock Falls (9-1) will match up with the winner of the Farmington/Hamilton game in the first semifinal of the tournament at 1:00 p.m. Bushnell will play the loser between Farmington and Hamilton at 9:00 a.m. for the chance to advance to the 5th place game.
