in semis for first time since '01 |
Farmington
punched their ticket to the semifinals with a
62-35 victory over the Hamilton Cardinals. It
will be the Farmers' first trip to the semis of
the Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament since 2001.
After drawing first blood on a trey by Brice
Foose, Farmington (8-3) held off several Cardinal
charges in the first quarter before finally
establishing a ten point lead midway through the
second period. Foose went on to score 18 points
on 6-of-11 shooting. Josh Watznauer added 10
points and eight boards for the Farmers. Michael
Sullivan paced Hamilton (6-5) with 10 points
while teammate Jordan Shuman saw limited action
due to foul trouble and finished with seven
points.
Farmington's next game will be Friday afternoon
at 1:00 against the two-time defending champion
Rockets of Rock Falls. Hamilton moves to the 5th
place bracket Friday at 9:00 a.m. where they will
face Hamilton in a rematch of the season opener
for both teams. In that game, Hamilton beat B-PC
70-42. |
