12-0 start for Farmers ends in 67-28 victory over Carthage   December 28, 2006
Rematch with Abingdon awaits Farmington
Matt Goedeke scored 17 to lead Farmington past Carthage 67-28 in opening round action of the Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament. Farmington scored the game's first 12 points and never looked back in advancing to a quarterfinal matchup with Abingdon tomorrow.

Josh Watznauer notched the tourney's first double-double as the Farmington (11-0) senior scored 15 points and hauled in 13 rebounds. Watznauer also registered the tournament's first dunk, a thunderous two-handed jam on an alley oop less than midway through the third period. Farmington also held a 17-2 advantage in the assists category. As a team, the Farmers made nearly 52 percent of their field goal attempts in the game including 64 percent in the second half (16-of-25).

Carthage (4-4), paced by Jacob Schmudlach's 10 points, was unable to connect on any of their seven three-point field goal attempts. The Blueboys were outrebounded 45-25.

Farmington's matchup with Abingdon will tip off tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. Carthage will take on Pittsfield in a consolation quarterfinal matchup tomorrow morning at 10:30.

NOTES:
- Farmington hosted Abingdon on December 22nd. The Farmers won that matchup 64-39.
