Western notches first-ever M-WHT victory   December 28, 2007
Illini Central done after two games for the first time since 1998
It was a game that featured a pair of firsts: the first two-and-out for Illini Central since 1998 and the first-ever win for Western in the Macomb-Western Holiday Basketball Tournament.

Only two points separated these two teams with just over 5:30 to play, but Western (5-7) was able to pull away late to move on to the consolation semifinals with a 47-35 win over Illini Central (4-9).

Tyler Harris scored 16 on 5-of-9 shooting while Adam Smith, perfect from the field on his three attempts, added 12.

Carlos Riobo scored 10 to lead Illini Central.

Western will face Hamilton tomorrow morning at 9:00 at Macomb High School for the right to advance to the consolation championship.
