Tourney's first OT game leads to upset   December 28, 2007
#3 WNC falls in OT
Abingdon's five point first quarter lead was taken away by Warsaw/Nauvoo-Colusa early in the 2nd quarter and the Commandos wouldn't get it back until the final three minutes of regulation. Even then they could not hold the advantage. It took overtime before Abingdon toppled the Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament's #3 seed 51-47.

In a game that featured nine lead changes and five ties, Abingdon (10-3) used a patient approch on offense to keep Warsaw/Nauvoo-Colusa (9-2) within striking distance.

Ryan Thompson paced Abingdon with 20 points and eight rebounds with teammates Nick Anderson (14) and Andy Brackett (10) also reaching double-digit scoring.

Ben Kearse led WNC with 18 points as he went 6-of-12 from the floor, matching Thompson's field goal shooting numbers.

The Wildcats will face the Pittsfield/Monmouth-Roseville loser at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow in the 5th place semifinals.

Abingdon finds themselves in the semifinals for the first time since 2000 and will face the Pittsfield/Monmouth-Roseville winner tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 in Western Hall.
