Kewanee benefits from cold Cougar shooting
A cold first half from the floor for Illini Central got even more frigid in the second half as Kewanee advanced to the consolation championship with a 48-36 win over Illini Central.

The Cougars made just 28.6% of their first half field goal attempts. In the second half, they were just 5 of 20 for 25%. Illini Central (8-3) only connected on two of their 15 three-point attempts.

Cole Brownfield recorded a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double for the Cougars. Danny Harman added 11.

Leading the way for Kewanee (5-9) was Terry Mercer who notched a double-double of his own with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Kewanee will face West Hancock in a 5:00 consolation championship matchup this evening at Western Hall.
