| The
Indians of Lewistown made 25 of 27 free throws
(92.6%), including 16 of 17 in the fourth quarter
to hold off the Pittsfield Saukees in the 5th
place bracket action in the Macomb-Western
Holiday Tournament. The big blow to Pittsfield
came during a 17-2 Lewistown run which occurred
through most of the 3rd and the first two minutes
of the fourth quarters which conlcuded with a
55-44 victory for the Indians. Lewistown (8-3) scored
nearly as many points from the free throw line
(25) as they did from the floor (30).
Brent Burrows
scored 19 to lead Lewistown. He was a perfect 8
of 8 from the line as was Quinton Hatfill who was
10 of 10. Hatfill finished with 14 points and
eight rebounds.
Clint Hamilton's
11 points led the way for Pittsfield (10-2) who
came into the tournament undefeated and the
tournament's top seed.
Lewistown will
meet the Midwest Central vs. Abingdon winner in
this evening's 5th place game which will start at
6:30.
