West Hancock slices lead to 1 in final minute, but fall
The Cougars of Illini Central enjoyed a lead for all but 1:05 of the contest in the opening game of the 2009 Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament on their way to a 54-51 victory over the West Hancock Titans.

Illini Central (4-6) built a 10 point lead midway through the final period and looked to be in control. But the Titans (7-2) made things interesting by closing the gap to just a single point with :09 to play as Ryan Runge scored 10 of his teams final 14 points. Runge finished with 21.

Danny Harman led Illini Central with 21 points on 9 of 14 shooting.

Illini Central advances to the quarterfinals where they will take on the Metamora vs. Farmington winner tomorrow at 5:00 in Western Hall. West Hancock battles the Farmington/Metamora loser at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow at "The Hall."
