Midwest Central outlasts Plains, 63-60   December 28, 2009
Raiders victorious despite Plains' paint prevalance
An 11 point third quarter lead for Midwest Central evaporated to just two in the final minutes as the Raiders held on to send the Cardinals of Pleasant Plains to the consolation bracket, 63-60.

Midwest Central (5-3) shot 70% (7 of 10) from three-point range in the opening half including Brandon Fisher connecting on all four of his trey attempts. Fisher finished with 20 points. Teammate Zach Schmidgall added 18 points on 80% field goal shooting.

Despite outscoring the Raiders in the paint 46-24, Pleasant Plains (7-4) was unable to retake a lead they last held three minutes into the contest. The Cardinals were paced by Logan Harris who finished with 18 while Lucas Studach added 16.

Pleasant Plains moves to the consolation bracket where they will face the loser between Canton and Abingdon tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. while Midwest Central takes on the Canton/Abingdon winner in the quarterfinals tomorrow evening at 6:30. Both games will be played in Western Hall.
