Abingdon puts #1 Canton to the test for 3 quarters, but falls 46-29   December 28, 2009
Sluggish start, but a win, for top-seeded Canton
Abingdon never led, but top-seeded Canton would not secure a double-digit lead until the fourth quarter as the Little Giants returned to the M-WHT with a 46-29 win over the Commandos.

The Commando defense helped Abingdon (2-7) stay in the hunt through three quarters, but five turnovers during the first three minutes of the final period allowed Canton (6-2) to take control. For the game, Abingdon committed 25 turnovers to the Little Giants' 11.

Canton was led by Matt Putrich with 15 points while Jordan Fouts chipped in with 11 and will play Midwest Central in a 6:30 p.m. quarterfinal game tomorrow in Western Hall.

Cory Link paced Abingdon with 9 points who will face Pleasant Plains in a 10:30 a.m. consolation bracket contest.
