Wildcats still on the prowl for a trophy
The Western Wildcats managed only 47% shooting from the field, but still came away with a consolation bracket win, 46-34, over BPCA.

The Spartans only connected on 26% of their shots from the floor, but still were able to keep the lead within reach throughout the contest this afternoon at Western Hall.

With their elimination, BPCA (4-7) is still searching for their first tournament victory since a 52-44 win over Knoxville in 2006.

Zach Kipling, Tom Lawson, Cain Fayhee and Mitch Murphy each scored 7 to lead BPCA. Kipling and Lawson pulled down 12 and 11 rebounds, respectively.

Garrett Robbins dropped in 13 points for Western (6-6) while Keaton Baker added 11. Cole Ruble was credited with 11 rebounds, 10 on the defensive end.

Western advances to the consolation bracket semifinals where they face the winner between Lewistown and Monmouth-Roseville. That game will tip at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Macomb High School.
