| The
Western Wildcats managed only 47% shooting from
the field, but still came away with a consolation
bracket win, 46-34, over BPCA. The Spartans only connected
on 26% of their shots from the floor, but still
were able to keep the lead within reach
throughout the contest this afternoon at Western
Hall.
With their
elimination, BPCA (4-7) is still searching for
their first tournament victory since a 52-44 win
over Knoxville in 2006.
Zach Kipling, Tom
Lawson, Cain Fayhee and Mitch Murphy each scored
7 to lead BPCA. Kipling and Lawson pulled down 12
and 11 rebounds, respectively.
Garrett Robbins
dropped in 13 points for Western (6-6) while
Keaton Baker added 11. Cole Ruble was credited
with 11 rebounds, 10 on the defensive end.
Western advances
to the consolation bracket semifinals where they
face the winner between Lewistown and
Monmouth-Roseville. That game will tip at 10:30
a.m. tomorrow at Macomb High School.
