Western beats buzzer, forces OT, and wins
Dakota Garner hit a driving layup at the regulation buzzer to make it a 39-39 game and force overtime. Western's defense and free throw shooting in the extra frame secured themselves a berth in the consolation title game as the Wildcats upset #3 seed Lewistown, 47-43.

It's the first time since the 2005 tournament that Lewistown did not make it to a trophy game.

The start of the game was delayed a few minutes due to Western's late arrival at Macomb High School. What is normally a hour and a half trip from Barry to Macomb took two and half thanks to snow-covered roads.

Cole Ruble scored 18 points while pulling down 11 rebounds in the winning effort for Western (7-6). Quinton Hatfill was the leading scorer for Lewistown (8-3).

Western battles West Hancock tonight at 5:00 for the consolation championship.
