Canton Little Giants made 14 of their 20 second
half free throw attempts and enjoyed a 32-19
rebounding advantage during the game to pull away
from fellow Mid-Illini Conference member
Metamora, 50-37, in semifinal action at the 2009
Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament. It's the second time the two teams have met and it's the second time Canton (9-2) has come out on top. As the top seed, Canton awaits the Macomb/Illini West winner for the tournament title which tips off at 9:30 tonight. Metamora (6-6), who was led by Brett McKinney's 11 points, will face the Macomb/Illini West loser in the 3rd place game. That one will start at 8:00 tonight. On 8 of 9 shooting, Justin Rollet was Canton's leading scorer with 21 points. |
