5th Place: Metamora earns the trophy, 46-35, over Camp Point Central   December 30, 20011
Redbirds win 5th place rematch
The Metamora Redbirds gained a bit of redemption on two fronts with their 46-35 win over the Camp Point Central Panthers in the fifth place game of the Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament. First, the top-seeded Redbirds were able to take home some hardware after a quarterfinal loss. Additionally, they were able to avenge a loss to Camp Point Central (10-5) in last year's fifth place game.

Ben Friday led Metamora (10-2) with 15 points and 6 rebounds. He was the only Redbird in double figures.

The only Panther to reach double-digit scoring was Alex Walter who finished with 15 points.

This is the third time Metamora has won the fifth place trophy. The were fifth place winners in 2001 and 2002. The last time they won a trophy game was in 2003 when they won the third place game.
