Rockridge Team Info

Last year, the Titans of Monmouth-Roseville (9-5) were the #3 seed and were on the wrong end of an upset in the second round by Camp Pt Central.  This year, it was their turn to upset a seeded team in the second round as they upended the #4 Rockets from Rockridge (9-5) by a score of 46-39.  This game that featured former Olympic Conference foes was relatively close all the way through.  Points in the paint spelled the fate of Rockridge, who were outscored in that category 26-12.

Neither team shot particularly well from the floor, but Rockridge specifically couldn’t catch a break and had their worst showing of the tournament thus far with a 28.6% clip.  To their credit, Rockridge managed to stay in the game with a wildly impressive 91.7% (11-of-12) from the free throw line.

Monmouth-Roseville had nine different players register at least 2 points scored and log at least 10 minutes played.  However, just one of those scorers ended in double figures (Jamonny Skinner with 15 points).  Skinner also registered seven rebounds and a very impressive nine steals.

Rockridge had a trio of players that scored double digits (Jensen Whiteman with 12, Riley Fetterer with 12, and Nate Henry with 11).  Cole Rusk had a team-high six rebounds and three blocks.

Monmouth-Roseville advances to the round of 4 and will face #1 seeded West Hancock in the 1:00 pm game #21 at Western Hall.  Rockridge falls into the 5th place bracket and will face Jacksonville in game #19, to be played at 9:00 am on Saturday in Western Hall.
