2019 Game 15 Recap:  Farmington vs Macomb

Macomb Info

Farmington's balanced scoring attack (four players with nine points or more) and stifling defense swallowed Macomb in this quarterfinal matchup.  The Farmers (10-2) shot 20-28 (71%) from the free throw line and used a 15-5 third quarter to skate passed the Bombers (2-9).  Macomb's Sam Allen built on a solid tournament with an additional 23 points in this contest, but it proved to not be enough.

Farmington capitalized on second chance points by a count of 13-4 and converted on several and-one situations.  They got to the line for 28 free throws and took full advantage by hitting 20 of them.  Macomb was only down by one point after one quarter and by two points at the half.  The third quarter killed them and they scrambled to shoot only 6-20 (30%) in the second half.

The Farmers had three double digit scorers in Dalton Powell (14 points), Ben Martin (12 points), and Blake Springer (10 points).  Ty Anderson added in another nine points and also contributed a game-high nine rebounds.  Farmington shot 15-30 (50%) for the game.

Macomb was led by the aforementioned Sam Allen with 23 points.  Adam Farr -- limited by fouls to just 19 minutes -- still managed to lead the Bombers with seven rebounds.  Here's a crazy stat:  Macomb had 10 assists as a team, and even though nine players got into the game...every player recorded at least one assist.

Farmington moves into the trophy round and will play in Game 22 (tomorrow, 2:30pm).  They will meet the winner of the West Hancock and Pittsfield game.  Macomb will move into the semifinals of the 5th place trophy, where they will play the loser of West Hancock and Pittsfield.  That game will be Game 20 (tomorrow, 10:30am).
