Canton
Tournament Trivia:
|
| The 2010 consolation trophy
was won by Canton which was made even
more remarkable given the fact they
entered the tournament with an 0-8
record. Canton returned to the
tournament in 2009 after spending the
previous two holiday seasons at the
Charleston tournament. The Little Giants
won the title that year.
In winning
the 2009 title, Canton was the first #1
seed to earn a championship since Macomb
did so in 2005.
Jordan
Fouts was named MVP of the 2009
tournament.
Wes
Emberton was the 2003 tournament MVP and
the only Little Giant to be named to the
all-tournament team that year.
Canton has
appeared in 119 tournament games. Only
Macomb (150) and Pittsfield (131) have
played more M-WHT contests through the
years.
Shannon
Pritchard was the 1986 Tourney MVP.
Alex
Henseler made 30 free throws during the
1970 tournament which stands today as a
record.
In 1979,
Canton set a tournament record when they
made 36 free throws in a game.
