| Illini West won the 2007
consolation championship game over fellow
Hancock County school Hamilton, 59-51. Troy Noble is the
new head coach at Illini West. He is the
second head coach the school has ever
had. However, the school has only existed
for two years.
Illini
West is comprised of the former Carthage,
LaHarpe and Dallas City school districts.
LaHarpe
had never been a tournament participant
while Dallas City was entered in the
tournament from 1947-1950. Dallas City
never did take home any tournament
hardware.
Carthage,
on the other hand, has enjoyed much
success in the tournament with fourth
place finishes in 2005, 1972, 1966 &
1954; 3rd place finishes in 1968, 1952
& 1951; and a runner up finish in
both 1967 and 2004.
In 1977,
Carthage set a record for highest free
throw percentange when they made 24 of 25
for 96%.
