Tournament Trivia:

| Don't let the name fool you.
Sure, the tournament is named the
Macomb-Western Holiday Basketball
Tournament. Sure, the name
"Western" refers to a high
school. However, that "Western"
is the now-defunct Western High Lab
School at Western Illinois University. Neither Barry nor
West Pike, the two schools who
consolidated at the start of the 2007
school year to create Western High, have
ever participated in the tournament.
Western
earned their first M-WHT hardware last
year as they took home the 3rd place
trophy with a 55-47 win over Farmington.
Western is
4-3 all-time since joining the tourney
field in 2007 and has played Illini
Central in both of their pervious
appearances. Both of those games wound up
as Wildcat wins.
Western
was ousted in the 2008-09 Class 'A'
post-season by fellow M-WHT team
Lewistown, 62-48, in the Sectional
Finals.
