2025 Game 17 Recap: Liberty 60, Rockridge 49

In the first consolation semifinal held at Brophy Hall, the Liberty Eagles defeated the Rockridge Rockets by a score of 60-49.  Rockridge actually outscored Liberty by a combined 44-38 in the second, third, and fourth quarters…however, Liberty dominated the first quarter 22-5 on Reed Sparrow’s hot three-point shooting.  The Eagles tallied an 15 assists for their 20 field goals, an indication of great passing and team ball control.

Liberty was led in scoring by Reed Sparrow’s impressive 26 points on 9-of-18 shooting.  Gavin Edgar had a team-high seven rebounds and Sparrow added six boards.  Tate Huber’s five assists were the most on Liberty’s team.  Vince Cramsey swiped four of the 10 Eagles steals, a game-high.   Interestingly, Liberty shot the same 50% from the three-point arc (12-for-24) as they did from the free throw line (8-for-16).

Rockridge’s leading scorer was Wade Richhart, whose 28 points and 12 rebounds each represented the game-high total.  Richhart shot 9-of-15 (60%) from the floor and 8-of-10 (80%) at the free throw line.  Chase Wheatley led the team with four assists.  The Rockets outrebounded the Eagles 24-23.

Liberty advances to the consolation championship game where they will meet the winner of the Monmouth-Roseville vs Pittsfield game.  Rockridge has been eliminated.
