In the second of two semifinals of the consolation bracket, the Titans of Monmouth-Roseville knocked off the Saukees of Pittsfield with a 63-36 win. Monmouth-Roseville was all gas, no brakes in this contest as they led 30-16 after the first half and scored another 33 in the second half. Despite shooting just 4-for-13 (31%) from beyond the three-point arc, the Titans shot 21-for-36 (58%) from inside the arc.
Monmouth-Roseville was led in scoring by Elliott Rogers’s 22 points and Cee Sarcomo’s 16 points. Sarcomo shot an impressive 7-for-9 (78%) from the floor and also led the game in assists with seven and steals with four. Kaden Russell grabbed down a game-high 11 rebounds and also included nine points. Nick Huston added eight points and seven rebounds as well.
The Saukees had a pair of double-digit scorers in Ryan Harris (13 points) and Hayden Gratton (10 points). Harris led his team with seven rebounds and Taylor Graham grabbed five rebounds. Collin Bernard and Gratton each swiped three steals.
Monmouth-Roseville continues on in the tournament and will face Liberty in the consolation championship game. Pittsfield has been eliminated from this year’s tournament event.
