Game 24 (5th Place) Recap: Liberty 55, Macomb 45

Liberty was paced by the Klingele brothers who combined to score 32 points (17 for Breiton and 15 for Nolton) and eight assists (four each) as the Eagles (10-4) nipped the Bombers of Macomb (3-9) to take the 5th place trophy.  Macomb’s Sam Allen continued his solid tournament with another 19 points.
Liberty shot 64% from the floor in this game, including 14-17 (82%) in the second half.

This game was closer than it appears, as Liberty’s largest lead was the final score.  Macomb couldn’t stop Liberty’s shooting in the second half though, and the Eagles shot 8-8 from the free throw line to clinch the victory.

Liberty was lead — as mentioned — by the Klingele brothers’ 32 points and eight assists combined.  They were the only Eagle scorers in double figures.  Logan Robbins pulled down eight rebounds.

The Bombers were led by Sam Allen’s 19 points on 8-12 shooting.  Carter Sutton grabbed a team-high five rebounds.  Atoa Stone led his team with three assists.

Liberty grabs the hardware, as they will take home the 5th place trophy.  Macomb will have to settle for 6th place.
