2025 Game 9 Recap: Liberty 50, Farmington 47

In the early morning game of Day 2, Liberty’s Eagles held off the Farmers of Farmington in a close affair by the score of 50-47.  In the closing seconds, Farmington was setting up a shot to tie the game, but Liberty came up with a clutch steal with five seconds remaining to secure the victory.  Farmington did save their best performance of the game for the fourth quarter, shooting 6-for-12 (50%) in the final frame.  But it was not enough this time and the Eagles held on to advance to the consolation semifinals.

Liberty was led in scoring by strong performances by Vince Cramsley’s 19 points and Reed Sparrow’s 15 points.  Sparrow led his team with six rebounds and Cramsley pulled down five boards.  Tate Huber dished out three assists and swatted two blocks as well.  The Eagles combined for an impressive 16 steals, with Cramsley and Sparrow both swiping five each.

Farmington was led in scoring by a trio of double-digit performances: Landon Crawford (16), Blake Melz (16), and Boston Smith (11).  Jack Gronewold’s four points were the only other scorer for the Farmers in this contest.  Kaydon Bollinger led the Farmers with seven rebounds, while Crawford and Logan Gardner both pulled down six boards.  Crawford’s five assists led the game.

Liberty advances to the consolation semifinal in Game 17 at Brophy Hall, Tuesday morning at 9:00am.  They will face the winner of the Camp Point Central and Rockridge game.  Farmington has been eliminated from the tournament.
