2025 Game 11 Recap: Pittsfield 49, Peoria Christian 44

In a close battle of teams with 5-5 records, the Pittsfield Saukees came out on top over Peoria Christian’s Chargers by a score of 49-44.  Pittsfield held a 1-point lead after the opening quarter, but widened the lead to 29-23 at the break.  The Chargers had an eight-point run in the first quarter and the Saukees responded with a seven-point run in the second quarter.  While both teams had relatively few turnovers, both teams also unfortunately shot poorly from the floor.  The teams combined 34-for-101 (33.6%) for field goals, which led to some inflated rebounding totals.

Pittsfield was led in scoring by Taylor Graham’s 18 points and Ryan Harris’s 15 points.  Collin Bernard also added eight points.  Harris led his team with nine rebounds and Bernard pulled down eight boards.  Bernard led the Saukees with four assists.  Pittsfield was in danger of letting Peoria Christian back into this game late, as they were having a frustrating day at the free throw line (12-for-27 for 44%).  However, their defense kept the Chargers at bay.

Peoria Christian’s scoring attack was led by Trae Bricker’s 13 points and Myles Zimmerman’s 12 points.  Lennon Trotter contributed a solid eight points off the bench as well.  Jacob Walton’s 13 rebounds not only led this game, but the effort now marks a tournament-high.  Walton also led the team with four assists.

The Saukees advance to the consolation semifinals in Game 18 (10:30am Tuesday in Brophy Hall), where they will face the winner of the Bushnell-Prairie City/Monmouth-Roseville game.  Peoria Christian has been eliminated from this year’s tournament.
